In the early eighties, so called conservative republicans like Ronald Reagan were successful in their attempts to turn the terms liberal and progressive into ideas worthy of ridicule and condemnation. The greatest mistake that we on the left made was to let them define our identity without putting up a fight. True liberalism and progressiveness derives its core from a belief in the collective good, a shared win-win outlook, freedom of thought, and a high moral/ethical standard. We should be proud of these beliefs and celebrate them. This website will give liberals and progressives a place where they can share thoughts and ideas with others.
